Introduction to Master Data Solution
Accurate and timely maintenance of Master Data across supplier, customer, article and controlling functions is one of the key parameters for an effective and efficient down-stream activities and accurate financial reporting.
The Master Data services from METRO Finance Solution Center include various packages across Supplier, Customer, Article & Controlling (Cost & Profit Center) master data, that can be centrally managed, organized, enriched and analyzed by our team.
Each service is undertaken as per the business rules of sales and operational strategies, to ensure maximum efficiency of cost & time for the enterprise.
Our Service Packages
Our solution includes services such as Creation, Modification, Block & Unblock and Maintain + Purge of Master Data for Suppliers, Customers and Article Masters. With an approach of creating end-to-end service packages, we focus on the deployment of automated solutions that are powered by Robotics. This enables us to not only reduce the overall turnaround time, but also process this master data accurately.
Creation Service
The processing of requests received through MS IT tool (workflow) / standard templates / excel / emails in SAP and MD+ (Supplier-Goods). This processing is undertaken through a hybrid model comprising of manual tasks, automated solutions.
Our Creation Service include
- Receiving Requests.
- Checking for duplication in Master Data.
- For bank accounts, a cross checking with the Bankers Almanac tool & IBAN Website is also undertaken.
Modification Service
Process the requests received through MS IT tool (workflow) / standard templates / excel / emails in SAP and MD+ (Supplier-Goods).
Our Modification Service include
- Requests related to user address, payment terms, dunning procedures are received.
- Cross checking for bank accounts through collaborations with bankers, almanac tools & IBAN Website is undertaken.
- The necessary approvals as per documentation are verified.
Block-Unblock Service
Processing of the requests received through MS IT tools and workflows, standard templates, MS excel, SAP emails and MD+ (Supplier-Goods).
Maintain & Purge Service
Regular quarterly and half-yearly purging done to ensure that master data is updated in line with the business’s internal control framework.
Controlling Service
Apart from the management and modification of master data, our teams also offer services including the creation and modification of Profit & Cost Centers for businesses, on the basis of JIRA tool requests for changes in CTA. These activities are split between the CTA IT team and the FSC Master Data team.
The CTA IT team works in tandem with the FSC Master Data team to process requests via the above mentioned tools and workflows, to generate the following:

- Cost- Centre Creation/ Modification
- Cost- Centre Group Creation/ Modification
